Mahindra Navistar kick-started its unique 'driver training' initiative, in its attempt to support and encourage the transport industry, in September 2010. This unique initiative addressed the shortage of trained drivers that the industry is facing at present.
Some of the highlights of the programme:
1. Medical Examination; Health Awareness programmes.
2. Vehicle Familiarization and Troubleshooting Training.
3. Training on safe driving practices.
4. BSA Training Academy led training on economic driving including road test and star rating
5. Visit to their 'state-of-art' manufacturing plant at Chakan.
And in a grand conclusion, one year Accident Insurance of Rs. 1 Lakh to each driver from MNAL. The trained drivers are now available for employment.
